WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 -- Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, ranking Republican member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, issued the following news release:
Today, House Oversight Democrats blocked a Republican motion to subpoena DC Councilmember Jack Evans to testify at today's hearing on DC statehood. Evans, a long-time DC Councilmember and former Chairman of the Council's Finance Committee, is accused of using his official position for personal gain.
