WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Maryland, vice chair of the House Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement on Jammu and Kashmir:
"I am deeply concerned regarding the recent activity in Kashmir. The increasing militarization of the region has created a situation in which a miscalculation can have devastating repercussions.
"The reports that the Kashmiri freedom of expression, assembly and movement have been restricted are troublin . . .
