WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, Co-Chair of the House Auto Caucus, issued the following statement after nearly 50,000 General Motors employees went on strike after contract negotiations between their union the United Auto Workers and GM stalled:
