WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 -- Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-Pennsylvania, issued the following statement in response to the potential link of cancer and asbestos in public schools in Philadelphia after a teacher was diagnosed with mesothelioma:
"It is deeply troubling to hear that a longtime Philadelphia school teacher's mesothelioma could have been contracted from her time teaching in a classroom.
"Our schools should be a sanctuary for all in our community - not a deadly . . .
