SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, Sept. 12 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service - Illinois Field Office issued the following news release:
Corn: Planted area is estimated at 10.70 million acres, down 3 percent from last year. Harvested area, forecast at 10.45 million acres, is down 4 percent from 2018. Based on September 1 conditions, the Illinois corn yield is forecast at 180 bushels per acre, down 1 bushel from last month and down 30 bushels from 2 . . .
