WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 -- Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Florida, issued the following statement after the Organization of American States determined, by a 12-0 vote with five countries abstaining, to approve the call for a consultation body pursuant to the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance, which affirms the responsibility of the OAS to work toward the maintenance of the peace and security of the continent:
