NORFOLK, Virginia, Sept. 9 -- The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, G. Zachary Terwilliger, issued the following news release:
A North Carolina woman was sentenced today to nearly five years in prison for her role in a conspiracy to prepare false tax returns for her customers.
According to court documents, Markita D. Simon, 32, of Rocky Mount, was the manager of a now-closed, Virginia Beach-based tax preparation service known as Express Tax Preparation . . .
