PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, Aug. 28 -- The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, William M. McSwain, issued the following news release:

McSwain announced that Stephen Padnes, M.D., 77, of Glenside, Pennsylvania, a physician formerly licensed in Pennsylvania, was charged by Indictment with illegally distributing controlled substances and filing false tax returns (the "Indictment").
