Florida State Sen. Stewart Re-Files Bill to Remove State Preemption on Auxiliary Plastic and Polystyrene Containers

TALLAHASSEE, Florida, Aug. 23 -- The Florida Senate issued the following news release on behalf of Florida State Sen. Linda Stewart, D-Orlando:

Senator Linda Stewart (D-Orlando) today released Senate Bill 182, which would strike language in Florida statute that forbids municipalities from governing items such as plastic shopping bags and foam containers.

"By removing this language we give home rule back to cities and counties allowing them to decide what best fits . . .
