Georgia State University: Texting, Emailing Parents Brings Chronically Absent Students Back to School

ATLANTA, Georgia, Aug. 14 [TNSeducationresearch] -- Georgia State University issued the following news release:

Many chronically absent kindergarten through 12th grade students return to school when their parents receive personalized text and email messages alerting them to their child's absence, a study (https://gpl.gsu.edu/publications/decrease-student-absenteeism/) by Georgia State University's Metro Atlanta Policy Lab for Education (MAPLE) shows.
