WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 -- The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights issued the following joint statement with 100 organizations, in response to the mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas:
"The tragedies of this past weekend represent a confluence of two dangerous forces: the rise of white supremacist terror and our federal government's inaction on commonsense gun safety. Both deserve sweeping and consequential action by our elected leaders.
