WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 -- Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Florida, issued the following statement in response to the shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio:
"From organized acts of violence during the Civil Rights era to the act of cowardice carried out by Timothy McVeigh & now the maniacs who murdered dozens in El Paso and Dayton, the liberties & freedoms we enjoy as Americans have been exploited by monsters who represent neither our values nor who we are as a nation.
