MIAMI, Florida, Aug. 5 -- Rep. Donna Shalala, D-Florida, issued the following statement on the Miami-Dade College Board of Trustees' process to select a college president:
"As a former three-time university president, I know the importance of having strong leadership at the helm of an institution of higher learning.
"Understanding the needs, concerns, and expectations of Miami Dade College's stakeholders and students must be the Board of Trustee's top priorit . . .
