WASHINGTON, July 30 -- Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, D-Florida, issued the following statement on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons:
"Today, we observe the United Nations' World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Nearly 25 million people worldwide, many of whom are women and children, suffer from some form of trafficking. Human trafficking is an underground, multi-billion dollar industry that targets those who are the most vulnerable, turning forced labor, sexual exploitatio . . .
