WASHINGTON, July 23 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, ranking member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, issued the following opening statement at a hearing entitled "Challenges for Cannabis and Banking: Outside Perspectives":
"Over the past several years, voters and legislatures in nearly every state have, to some degree, legalized or decriminalized cannabis. In my home state of Ohio, medical cannabis is now legal, and dispensaries opened earlier . . .
