CHICAGO, Illinois, July 22 -- The Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association, issued the following news release:

Shanel Slater, a student at the University of Iowa, has won the 2019 Young Adult Services Symposium student stipend from the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). The stipend will provide Slater with up to $1,000 to offset travel expenses to attend the symposium, which will be held Nov. 1-3 in Memphis, TN.
