North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services: Eight Stores Pay Fines for Price-Scanning Errors

RALEIGH, North Carolina, July 2 -- The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services issued the following news release:

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Standards Division has collected fines from stores in Buncombe, Durham, Haywood, Pitt, Wake and Watauga counties because of excessive price-scanner errors.

"The price on the shelf and the price at the register should match," said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. . . .
