NASS - New York Field Office: USDA Reports Increase in New York Corn Acreage

ALBANY, New York, July 2 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service - New York Field Office issued the following news release:
New York corn planted area for all purposes in 2019 is 1.12 million acres, up 2 percent from 2018. Growers expect to harvest 590 thousand acres for corn grain, down from 645 thousand acres last year.
New York soybean area this year is estimated at 270 thousand acres planted, down 18 percent from 2018.
