WASHINGTON, June 17 -- Sen. Thom Tillis, R-North Carolina, issued the following news release:
Recently, bipartisan legislation introduced by Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), members of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, that would extend eligibility for American Legion membership to honorably discharged veterans who served since World War II passed the Senate.
Currently, only veterans who served during periods of declared hostilities are able . . .
