JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri, June 17 -- Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt issued the following news:
Today, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced that his office is filing a lawsuit against the city of Garden City for disbanding most of their police department in a vote behind closed doors, a violation of Missouri's Sunshine Law. Located in Cass County, Garden City voted to disband most of its police department in a vote held by the Board of Aldermen in November of 2018 . . .
