RANGOON, Burma, April 23 -- The U.S. Embassy in Burma issued the following statement:
"The Supreme Court's ruling in Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo's case is deeply disappointing.
"These convictions, like the recent detention of filmmaker Min Htin Ko Ko Gyi and of the Peacock Generation Thangyat troupe, and the recent charges brought against editor U Ye Ni and other journalists, point to an increasing intolerance for free speech in Myanmar.
