WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 -- The American Federation of Teachers issued the following statement by President Randi Weingarten after the faculty union at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, went on strike in response to the university board of trustees' decision to impose a contract that slashes healthcare and guts academic freedom:
