PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, Sept. 13 -- The American College of Physicians issued the following news release:

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is part of a coalition of more than 40 health care and patient advocacy organizations to launch a targeted effort to improve the quality of medical diagnosis. Researchers estimate that up to 80,000 deaths a year in U.S. hospitals can be attributed to inaccurate or delayed diagnoses.
