NEW YORK, Jan. 11 -- The Guttmacher Institute issued the following news release:

In 2014, about half (51 percent) of abortion patients in the United States reported that they had used a contraceptive method in the month they became pregnant, according to a new analysis by Guttmacher researcher Rachel Jones.
