JUNEAU, Alaska, May 18 -- Gov. Bill Walker, R-Alaska, issued the following proclamation:

WHEREAS, in 1867, George Davidson and the Revenue Cutter Lincoln began United States Coast survey work to provide a special examination and report upon the geography and resources of Alaska, which influenced the passage of the bill appropriating the money to secure the Territory of Alaska for the United States; and
