MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga., Sept. 7 -- Georgia College and State University issued the following news release:

But what 19-year-old student travels approximately 7,000 miles to the opposite side of the world alone for an entire year?
Georgia College sophomore Ericka Moss, that's who.
She is taking advantage of the university's year-long study abroad program to Kyoto, Japan. She leaves Wednesday.
