DGCA Directs Airlines on Steps to Prevent Unsafe Flying Environment

NEW DELHI, Aug. 27 -- The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Civil Aviation:
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has observed that in a recent accident in a Contracting State of ICAO involving twin engine turbo prop, the concerned Investigating Agency has brought forward following safety lapses:
* First Officer sent two text messages from cockpit before take-off whereas crew is supposed to maintain a sterile cockp . . .
