ATLANTA, Aug. 26 -- The Georgia Department of Education issued the following news release:

Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Wes Taylor, principal of Lowndes High School in Valdosta, has been named the 2011 MetLife/National Association of Secondary School Principals National High School Principal of the Year.
