NEW DELHI, Aug. 26 -- The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Earth Science:
The oil spill causes deleterious effects on marine environment including marine organisms (living resources).
The places along Indian coastal areas having greater threat are: (i) Gulf of Kachchh; (ii) Mumbai; (iii) Mangalore; (iv) Kochi; (v) Visakhapatnam; (vi) Chennai; (vii) Tuticorin; (viii) Paradip; (ix) Hooghly; (x) Lakshadweep; and (xi) Port Blair . . .
