NEW DELHI, Aug. 25 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Environment and Forests:
The Uttar Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) received financial assistance for strengthening of laboratories during 1999-2003 under the World Bank aided programme. The State was not given any financial assistance by the World Bank for maintenance of pollution free environment in the State during last three years.
