NEW DELHI, Aug. 25 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Environment and Forests:
An area of 872.24 sq.km. has been notified by the State of Karnataka as the core/critical tiger habitat of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve, which includes the old National Park area. Under the ongoing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Project Tiger, funding assistance is provided for protection and management of the said tiger reserve vis-a-vis the guidelines of Proj . . .
