NEW DELHI, Aug. 25 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Environment and Forests:
A Special Committee of independent experts, constituted by the National Tiger Conservation Authority, for examining mining proposals both in and around tiger reserves has not favourably viewed some mining proposals (7) owing to their detrimental effect on tiger conservation. Further, the said Committee has recommended that none of the existing mines falling . . .
