SOUTH HADLEY, Mass., Aug. 24 -- Mount Holyoke College issued the following news release:
Steve Herman is supposed to be retired right now. That was his intention in 2006 when he stepped down, after 20 years, as president of Garrett College in Maryland. He planned to stick around the classroom as a part-time philosophy professor, but the big, campuswide work was done--or at least it was until one of his former students called up.
