NEW DELHI, Aug. 18 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Environment and Forests:
Under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, as amended in 2006, a tiger reserve consists of core or critical tiger habitat and buffer or peripheral area. An area of 31207.11 sq.km. has been notified by 16 tiger range States (out of 17) as core or critical tiger habitat including the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Besides, 'in-principle' ap . . .
