NEW DELHI, Aug. 18 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Environment and Forests:
Under the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, as amended in 2006, a tiger reserve consists of core or critical tiger habitat and buffer or peripheral area.
