NEW DELHI, Aug. 18 - The government of India issued the following news release from the Ministry of Environment and Forests:

There has been a reduction in the number of birds visiting the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. State Government of Rajasthan infomed the Ministry of Environment and Forests that various reasons including shortage of water, disruptions along the migratory route, etc have been attributed to this reduction.
