NAPA, Calif., Aug. 16 -- Napa County issued the following news release:
The Federal 9th District Court of Appeals today issued a stay of District Court Judge Vaughan Walker's order declaring California's Proposition 8, passed in November 2008 defining marriage as between one man and one woman, unconstitutional.
"This action by the appellate court means that Napa County will not be able to issue licenses and perform ceremonies for same gender couples u . . .
