DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 16 -- North Carolina Central University issued the following news release:
North Carolina Central University welcomes its largest and best-prepared freshman class ever this week. The class contains approximately 1,400 students, up from 1,348 last year. Their average GPA in high school was 3.0, up significantly from last year's 2.85.
