BATON ROUGE, La., July 7 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Louisiana Agricultural Statistics office issued the following press release:
Louisiana Crop Acreage
This is the first time in four years that Louisiana's soybean acreage has hit the one million mark. Soybean prices are excellent and that's certainly a major factor behind the big jump in acreage. On the down side, this will be the lowest cotton planted acreage on record.
