ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 4 -- The School Nutrition Association issued the following news item:
The USDA recently released a report reviewing the diet quality of participants in the National School Lunch Program. The report found that lunches consumed by participating students were more nutrient dense than lunches brought from home. School lunch participants tended to consume higher amounts of milk, meat, and beans. Lower income students had a greater consumption rate of fruits. . . .
