COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Aug. 1 -- Texas A&M University issued the following news release:
Dr. Jeffrey S. Vitter, currently of Purdue University, was confirmed Friday (Aug. 1) as provost and executive vice president for academics by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents upon the recommendation of President Elsa Murano, effective Aug. 15.
Vitter has served as the Frederick L. Hovde Dean of Science and professor of computer science at Purdue since 2 . . .
