WHITEVILLE, N.C., Aug. 13 -- Southeastern Community College issued the following news release:
The Venus flytrap is one of only a few plants in the world that can capture, kill and eat its prey. It is admired around the world for its deadly beauty, yet only grows naturally within 75 miles of Southeastern Community College. Recently, the college was contacted by the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro to provide the zoo with these plants.
