RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 15 -- The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources' Division of Parks and Recreation issued the following news release:
A fish kill at Merchants Millpond State Park in Gates County has prompted the closing of the park's 760-acre pond to campers, paddlers and anglers until further notice, according to the N.C Division of Parks and Recreation.
