Forest Service Withdraws Logging Project in West Virginia's Monongahela National Forest to Spare Endangered Fish
ASHEVILLE, North Carolina, Dec. 21 -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release: The U.S. Forest Service this week announced it will withdraw a 2,400-acre logging project in West Virginia's Monongahela National Forest following objections raised by conservation groups about harm to an endangered fish. Greenpeace: Giant Eagle to Eliminate Single-Use Plastics From Its Operations by 2025
WASHINGTON, Dec. 17 -- Greenpeace issued the following news release: Giant Eagle, which operates 474 stores across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, and Maryland, announced that it intends to be free of single-use plastics in its operations by 2025. As part of this commitment, the company will eliminate all single-use plastic bags by 2025, beginning with a six-month pilot project at several stores in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
