Rep. Davis Introduces Bill on American Opportunity Tax Credit
WASHINGTON, Nov. 21 -- Rep. Danny K. Davis, D-Ill., has introduced legislation (H.R. 9331) to "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to strike the provision of the American Opportunity Tax Credit that denies the credit to students with felony drug convictions."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 17 and was co-sponsored by Reps. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., Steven Horsford, D-Nev., Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, and Terri A. Sewell, D-Ala. It was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Rep. Joyce Introduces Bill to Improve Services for Trafficking Victims
WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 -- Rep. David Joyce, R-Ohio, has introduced legislation (H.R. 9352) to "improve services for trafficking victims by establishing, in Homeland Security Investigations, the Investigators Maintain Purposeful Awareness to Combat Trafficking Trauma Program and the Victim Assistance Program."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 22 and was co-sponsored by Reps. Dina Titus, D-Nev., Ann Wagner, R-Mo., and Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich. It was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

Sen. Rosen Introduces Bill on SBA Loan Programs
WASHINGTON, Nov. 21 -- Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., has introduced legislation (S. 5131) to "ensure that certain loan programs of the Small Business Administration are made available to cannabis-related legitimate businesses and service providers."
The bill was introduced on Nov. 17. It was referred to the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.
