ASLA Issues Statement on Federal Flood Risk Management Standard

WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 -- The American Society of Landscape Architects issued the following statement by Nancy Somerville, executive vice president and CEO, in response to President Trump's executive order intended to streamline the environmental approval process for major infrastructure projects:
"ASLA is deeply concerned with the executive order's roll back of the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard (FFRMS). This order ignores both existing risks of flooding and future impact . . .
