JUNEAU, Alaska, April 27 -- Gov. Bill Walker, R-Alaska, issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, Alaska is home to thriving traditional cultures of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders whose family values and cultural pride strengthen our communities and benefit our great state; and
WHEREAS, Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month was first established as a week in May 1978 and then in May of 1992 as a month long commemoration of the immigration of the first Japan . . .
