Kentucky Senate Passes Charter Public School Bill

WASHINGTON, March 15 -- The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools issued the following news release:

Today the Kentucky State Senate passed HB 520, a bill that would allow charter public schools to open in Kentucky for the first time. The Senate passed the bill by a 22-16 vote. The State House passed the bill on March 3 by a 56-39 vote. After a concurrence vote in the House, the bill will be sent to the Governor, who is expected to sign the bill into law.
