WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 -- The AFSCME (American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees - AFL-CIO) issued the following statement by President Lee Saunders on the Justice Department's reversal of the Obama administration decision to phase out the federal government's use of private prisons:
"Corrections officers working in our federal, state and local prisons have some of the most dangerous jobs imaginable. They put themselves in harm's way to protect their communiti . . .
