DETROIT, Jan. 17 -- Detroit Public Schools issued the following news release:
Detroit Public Schools Community District welcomed its new board of education at a public swearing in ceremony at Cass Technical High School on January 11, 2017. The ceremony officially ushered in the return of the school district to local control under the governance of the seven member board.
