WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 -- Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M., issued the following statement after the House passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1):
"The current 70,000-page tax code is outdated and too complicated. It simply doesn't work for New Mexican and American families. Passage of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act provides relief for lower- and middle-income families and creates more, better paying jobs.
"Study after study has shown this bill will help the economy gro . . .
